Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Claw-Cup at my ballpark?
Rules for MLB ballparks differ but most have clear policies posted about what is allowed in the park. The Claw-Cup is generally allowed through security.
Most MLB parks allow use of the Claw-Cup, but you are responsible for checking the regulations in your individual stadium. Be sure to never use the Claw-Cup in the field of play.
Claw-Cup is not responsible for any confiscations of the device or for any consequences against the user for misuse of the device.
How long and what type of strings should I use with the Claw-Cup?
The length of strings is up to you! They should be a few feet longer than the furthest distance you expect to reach. We have found that 20 feet is typically more than enough. Remember you need two strings!
You can use any type of strings so long as you are able to tie knots in it. We often recommend 2mm paracord. We recommend using two different colors of strings for each of the drop and retrieve strings.
How do I use the Claw-Cup?
Simply lower the Claw-Cup onto the baseball with the drop-string. Leave a little bit of slack in the pull-string as you lower the device on the baseball. Once the baseball is in the Claw-Cup, retrieve the ball and cup with the pull-string. Detailed instructions and demonstration videos can be found on the Instructions page.
